Good Morning!
You [spiritually] blind Pharisee, first clean the inside of the cup and of the plate [examine and change your inner self to conform to God’s precepts], so that the outside [your public life and deeds] may be clean also. -Matthew 23:26
I think we all at times, or have at some point, try to put a good front on. What we try to show on the outside is not necessarily what is going on on the inside. There is a lot in today’s world that pushes us to do just that. If you think about social media, you are seeing the highlights of someone’s life and you tend to think that is what their life must be like. I think a lot of us realize now that is not the case, but we have to consciously tell ourselves that, because what we see is otherwise. And in today’s world, with so many ways of communication, because we think everyone is watching, we naturally want to appear like we are good, and we have life figured out but if we are a mess on the inside the outside facade will only work for a short time. To actually get fulfillment out of life we have to fix the inside and the way to do that is pursue a relationship with God and let Him direct you from there. If the inside is where it needs to be the outside will take care of itself.

“We’re not perfect, and there are some dark patches in our past, but what makes us special is that we recognize these evils, we come to grips with them, and we fix them.” -Dianne Feinstein
