Good Morning!
For we have brought nothing into the world, so [it is clear that] we cannot take anything out of it, either. -1 Timothy 6:7
Too often we get caught up with the ‘stuff’ in life and although we all are aware that when we die we can’t take any of it with us, we still tend to chase it and get upset when someone stands in the way of us getting our ‘stuff’. There is only one thing that really matters that we get right in this life and that is our salvation. Now with salvation comes other stuff that matters, like relationships and what we do with our time and resources. So we shouldn’t go through life focused on just us and our personal salvation but see how can we impact beyond ourselves. I think the questions we need to ask ourselves every day is, “How is my relationship with God?” and, “What am I doing with my influence, resources, and gifts that God has blessed me with?” This is not intended to make anyone feel guilty about our ‘stuff’ but more to remind ourselves that perspective matters as we go through life.
“There is never time in the future in which we will work out our salvation. The challenge is in the moment; the time is always now.” -James Baldwin
“Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies.” -Mother Teresa
Dad Joke of the Day:
I’ve entered the annual tightest hat competition in our town this year.
I’m just hoping that I can pull it off.
Have a great Thursday!
