Discipline and Learning

Good Morning!

He who neglects and ignores instruction and discipline despises himself, but he who learns from rebuke acquires understanding [and grows in wisdom].  -Proverbs 15:32

This is a concept that doesn’t get mentioned a lot. When we ignore instruction or discipline, we actually despise ourselves. And when we learn from rebuke we gain understanding and grow in wisdom. Just about every situation or conversation has something that we can learn from if we are looking for it. When we are learning from our mistakes we are growing in wisdom, but when we are always making excuses on why something didn’t go as it was supposed to we are doing ourselves a disservice to the point where we are actually harming ourselves. The next time something doesn’t go as planned or in some way you messed up, ask yourself what you can learn from that and grow in your wisdom.

“The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.”  -Henry Ford

“You can pick up a mistake and carry it as a burden; or you can set it down and use it as a stepping stone to greatness.”

Dad Joke of the Day:

Every morning I announce to my family that I’m going jogging but then I don’t go.

It’s a running joke.

Have a great Tuesday!
