Good Morning!
“Is it time for you yourselves to live in your [expensive] paneled houses while this house [of the Lord] lies in ruins?” Now therefore, thus says the Lord of hosts, “Consider your ways and thoughtfully reflect on your conduct!” -Haggai 1:4-5
This was written to Israel in a time where they had come back to Jerusalem from exile and they spent 18 years rebuilding their own houses while leaving the temple in ruins. They were more concerned about their own comfort and taking care of themselves than about making sure that their spiritual life was in a healthy place. I don’t think they intentionally neglected rebuilding the temple and they had plans to do it, but life got in the way and they just hadn’t gotten to it yet. Because of them not making it priority, God’s blessing had started to diminish, they weren’t as profitable anymore, it seemed like they were spinning their wheels. Today we don’t have a physical temple building that God resides in but instead He resides in each of us as Christians. How does our life look, how does it compare to what they were going through back then? Are we too busy making a life that we forget or don’t have time to take care of our spiritual life? I love how verse 5 says, ‘Consider your ways and thoughtfully reflect on your conduct!’
“Nobody is ever “too busy”, if they are interested, they’ll make time.”

Dad Joke of the Day:
The cable repairman was on the street and asked me what time it was.
I told him between 8am and 1pm.
Have a great Monday!
