Be Humble

Good Morning!

When pride comes [boiling up with an arrogant attitude of self-importance], then come dishonor and shame, but with the humble [the teachable who have been chiseled by trial and who have learned to walk humbly with God] there is wisdom and soundness of mind.  -Proverbs 11:2

How many times does pride get in the way of doing the right thing? What often holds us back from going all in for Jesus or for having conversations about Jesus? I would venture to say it is pride, at least that is what it is for me if I am honest with myself. What I love about this verse is that it reminds us that to be humble and walk humbly with God results in wisdom and common sense. Normally when we make a fool out of ourselves it is because we are lacking both wisdom and common sense and instead are letting our pride guide our actions. If we go all in for Jesus, He will reward us every single time, even if we don’t always see it in the moment. Today let’s set aside our pride and do what God called us to do.

“Pride will always be the longest distance between two people.”

“It is better to lose your pride to the one you love, than to lose the one you love for your pride.”

Dad Joke of the Day:

If climate change is causing the sea level to rise, does that mean that the oceans are getting too big for their beaches?

Have a great Friday and awesome weekend!
