Good Morning!
For the love of money [that is, the greedy desire for it and the willingness to gain it unethically] is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves [through and through] with many sorrows. -1 Timothy 6:10
Notice how it says the love of money is the root of evil, not money itself. You might think, “Who doesn’t love money?!”, but it is the heart posture behind it that makes all the difference in what kind of control money has over you. Does making money consume your life to the point where that takes precedence over everything else? If something happens in your life, is the first thought that rushes through your mind, “How much is that gonna cost me?” Do you prioritize making money over having a deep relationship with God or your family? There are many people that are blessed with business and financial smarts and by no means should those people stifle those gifts but the motivation behind it is what makes the difference between good and evil. Do you hold your money with a closed fist or with an open palm?
“Tell me what you think about money, and I will tell you what you think about God, for these two are closely related. A man’s heart is closer to his wallet than anything else.” -Billy Graham
“Money is like love; it kills slowly and painfully the one who withholds it, and enlivens the other who turns it on his fellow man.” -Kahlil Gibran
Dad Joke of the Day:
I’ll bet Waldo owed some people money.
You don’t get that good at hiding for no reason.
Have a great Tuesday!
