Throne of Grace

Good Morning!

Therefore let us approach the throne of grace with confidence and without fear, so that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find [His amazing] grace to help in time of need. -Hebrews 4:16

Even though we are sinners in need of redemption and cannot earn our own way into heaven, it should not keep us from approaching God and accepting His grace. The verse above states we should approach with confidence and without fear. Confidence does not mean arrogant or self-serving, but means that we should not shy away from or be afraid of approaching God on whatever matter we have going on. We cannot do this life alone and we most definitely cannot earn our own salvation so it would be in our best interest to approach the throne of grace with humility but confident that God will do what He says He will do. And yes, we can be confident and humble at the same time, since humble does not equal meek or weak but rather removing our own pride and being submissive to God and living out His ways.

“What joy the gospel gives me! I can approach the throne of God with confidence-not because I’ve done a good job at my spiritual duties, but because I’m clothed in the righteousness of Jesus Christ.” -C.J. Mahaney

“Humility is not thinking less of yourself, it is thinking of yourself less.” -C.S. Lewis

Dad Joke of the Day:

There is a big paddle sale at the boat store.

It’s quite an oar deal.

Have a great Tuesday!
