Good Morning!
For it is by grace [God’s remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you have been saved [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] through faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [not through your own effort], but it is the [undeserved, gracious] gift of God. -Ephesians 2:8
Once again, it is through God’s grace that we are saved by faith. We didn’t earn our salvation, we can’t earn our salvation, it is given to us as a gift from God. When you think of the prodigal son and how he disrespected his father and blew his inheritance on wild living and then when he wanted to go back to his father as his servant and his father took him in as the long lost son that he was; that is how God takes us in, no matter what we have done in the past, all we have to do is truly repent and ask forgiveness. The father didn’t owe that son any of that, in fact he didn’t even owe him a job as a servant, but yet he took him back into his family like the son that he was.
“Without a heart transformed by the grace of Christ, we just continue to manage external and internal darkness.” -Matt Chandler
“Grace isn’t just forgiveness, it is forgiveness fueled by surrender.” -Amy E. Spiegel
Dad Joke of the Day:
Today I learned that if you’re in a canoe and it flips over in the water you can safely wear it on your head because it is capsized.
Have a great Thursday!
