There is the one who [generously] scatters [abroad], and yet increases all the more; And there is the one who withholds what is justly due, but it results only in want and poverty. The generous man [is a source of blessing and] shall be prosperous and enriched, And he who waters will himself be watered [reaping the generosity he has sown]. He who leans on and trusts in and is confident in his riches will fall, But the righteous [who trust in God’s provision] will flourish like a green leaf. -Proverbs 11:24-25
I encourage you to pray and ask God where He is asking you to be generous. Are you generous with your money but stingy on giving away your time? God might be asking you to give up more of your time for others. Are you generous with your time but hold on tight to your finances? God might be asking you to bless someone financially this Christmas season that is less fortunate. There are other ways to be generous as well, not just with time and money. Pray and find out what that “thing” is for you.
