Good Morning!
The people who walk in [spiritual] darkness will see a great Light; those who live in the dark land, The Light will shine on them. -Isaiah 9:2
This was prophesied to Israel referring to when Jesus was to come to the earth. The awesome part of that is that we, as believers, are part of that promise and through Jesus we are able to come out of spiritual darkness and we can feel the Light of Jesus on us bringing light to darkness. There is a lot of spiritual darkness these days with anxiety, depression, feeling of hopelessness and if we watch the news a lot we get the feeling that we live in a dark land as well. That is why it is so important for us as the Church to first make sure that we living the Light of Jesus but then also taking it out to the world and spreading that Light to the dark world. Light has and always will have power over darkness, light chases darkness away. Keeping the light for just inside the church is like lighting a candle and then putting a bowl over it to where you get no benefit of the ambience or the light. We are to be the city on the hill, the light to the world, the salt of the earth, bringing light and flavor (fulfillment) to an otherwise dark and flavorless world. Be salty and lit today!
