Be dressed and ready for active service, and keep your lamps continuously burning. -Luke 12:35 AMP
Do we live our lives ready for active service in spreading the Gospel? We are to be a light to the people around us, is our lamp continually burning to where we can be that light? I think we all have moments where this is not true but reading this verse is a good reminder to align our lives in a way that we can live this out, all the time. Part of it is putting practices in place that just naturally align you with this, like what media you take in, what books you read, what you listen to. The bigger part of this is constantly pursuing God in relationship, leaning into your faith and walking out what God is putting on your heart. Like a lot of other things in life, when we coast in our relationship with God we become complacent and we start sliding backwards, but when we are always pursuing God on a new level and walking out what it means to be the hands and feet of Jesus it keeps oil in our lamps and allows us to be a light. What action steps are you taking today to be ready for active service and putting fuel in you lamp to be a light?
