Good Morning!
I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it, and because no lie [nothing false, no deception] is of the truth. -1 John 2:21 AMP
We each get tempted with lying throughout our day and throughout our lives, it’s part of our fallen world and the temptation that the devil is constantly bombarding us with. We all know truth and when we weigh our words carefully we have the best chance of only speaking truth. We cannot lie our way to truth, only truth leads to truth. When we make it a habit of lying we create distrust in every avenue of our life to where even when you are telling the truth people don’t believe you. As the verse says above, there is no lie that is of the truth. What guardrails do we put in place in our lives to protect against the temptation of using untruth?
“He who permits himself to tell a lie once, finds it much easier to do it a second and third time, till at length it becomes habitual.” -Thomas Jefferson
“A single lie discovered is enough to create doubt in every truth expressed.”
