Good Morning!
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways And My thoughts higher than your thoughts.” -Isaiah 55:8-9
I always imagine this comparison as an elderly person to a young child. As children we thought we knew what we were doing and knew what was best for us but we didn’t realize the big picture or the dangers out there. The older we get the more we see of the big picture, the more our thoughts and our ways shift accordingly. And that comparison is small in comparison to the difference between God and us and how much higher His ways and thoughts are than ours. As adults we just want our children to heed our advice so they don’t have to experience the pain of finding out for themselves. God’s advice is written in a book for us to read, are we pursuing it? Are we taking the advice or are we learning the hard way?
