Fishers of Men

Good Morning!

And Jesus said to them, “Follow Me [as My disciples, accepting Me as your Master and Teacher and walking the same path of life that I walk], and I will make you fishers of men.” Immediately they left their nets and followed Him [becoming His disciples, believing and trusting in Him and following His example]. -Mark 1:17-18

It says that they immediately left their nets and followed Him. The readiness that these disciples displayed is where we should be as followers of Christ, to be ready whenever He needs us. To be ready to be “fishers of men” at a drop of a hat. Are we all in? Are we fully behind the Jesus in every way, believing and trusting in Him and following His example? Or are we still holding on to a part of our old lifestyle that we don’t want to let go of just yet? Jump all in, He’s got you, and the reward will be greater than whatever you are holding on to right now.

“We’ve drifted away from being fishers of men to being keepers of the aquarium.” -Paul Harvey

“Followers of Jesus don’t always know where they are going, but they always know who they are with.” -David Platt
