So I say to you, ask and keep on asking, and it will be given to you; seek and keep on seeking, and you will find; knock and keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who keeps on asking [persistently], receives; and he who keeps on seeking [persistently], finds; and to him who keeps on knocking [persistently], the door will be opened. -Luke 11:9-10
How persistent are we in our prayers? How persistent are we in our faith? I think we tend to think, when our prayers don’t get answered, that it might be because it doesn’t line up with God’s will and then we give up on it. If that is the case, where our prayers don’t line up with God’s will, but we are persistent in prayer and seeking, I believe God will guide us and line up our path with His own. A teacher is only able to teach a student when he/she shows up to be taught, but when the student doesn’t show up or interact with the teacher at all there is no way for the teacher to teach. The same is true for God, if we don’t interact with God and show up, we can’t expect Him to move the mountains in our lives as He will not force Himself on us, but He is always there willing to move on our behalf as long as we choose to include Him.
