Open Your Ears

Good Morning!

My son, pay attention to my words and be willing to learn; open your ears to my sayings. Do not let them escape from your sight; keep them in the center of your heart. For they are life to those who find them, and healing and health to all their flesh. -Proverbs 4:20-22

Do we look at God’s Word this way? Do we keep it center in our heart and constantly in our sight? Like stated in the verse above, there is lots of healing and health that can be found through the Bible, in Christ. If we look at the Bible as God’s Word, a form of communication from God to us, I think we will find much more in there than if we look at the Bible as some old collection of ancient stories. No matter how someone views the Bible, I don’t think anyone can read it cover to cover and not be changed in some way. The Bible enhances our relationship with Jesus, gives us the secrets to a fulfilling life, and if we practice the principles that it teaches, makes us better people to be around.

“If Christians knew the benefits of memorizing Scripture, we would make it a priority.” -Paul Chapman

“The primary purpose of reading the Bible is not to know the Bible but to know God.” -James Merritt
