Spiritual Training

Good Morning!

On the other hand, discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness [keeping yourself spiritually fit]. For physical training is of some value, but godliness (spiritual training) is of value in everything and in every way, since it holds promise for the present life and for the life to come.  -1 Timothy 4:7b-8

How often do you work out your spiritual body? We work out our physical bodies to be healthy and live longer and that is important. But what about beyond that? How much more important is it to do spiritual training? Spiritual training, or godliness, needs to be priority because not only does it help you tremendously in this life but it puts you in a position to fully receive the grace of God and His salvation. The world is coming against us constantly with ungodliness and if we don’t have the training to combat that with godliness then we are at a disadvantage. How do we train? We study scriptures, we get together with other believers and study scriptures, we go to church, etc.

“Our future reality depends on what we do now in this present moment.”

“Spiritual transformation is not a matter of trying harder, but of training wisely.”  -John Ortberg Jr.

Dad Joke of the Day:

Person: “What’s the dumbest thing you’ve ever done?”

Me: “Awfully bold of you to assume I’ve peaked.”

Have a great Thursday!
