Temptation

Good Morning!

But each one is tempted when he is dragged away, enticed and baited [to commit sin] by his own [worldly] desire (lust, passion). Then when the illicit desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin has run its course, it gives birth to death.  -James 1:14-15

That is exactly what it feels like when we get tempted, like we are being baited and then dragged away. The temptation of sin is strong and without God it is impossible to stand against some of the temptations we face. We have to stay in strong connection to God to overcome these temptations because we want to do everything we can to keep clear of them. Because as the verse says when we start focusing on the temptation and desiring for whatever that is, we start having thoughts that aren’t healthy and if not addressed will give birth to sin. Sin that is not addressed will then lead to being miserable, darkness, and eventually death. The good news is that we can pray to God for help, no matter how deep we are into the temptation or sin, and if we repent and turn away from that sin and temptation we can experience true freedom and an overwhelming peace.

Dad Joke of the Day:

People call me skeptical.

But I’m not sure I believe that.

Have a great Tuesday!
