Keep Asking

Good Morning!

In that day you will not [need to] ask Me about anything. I assure you and most solemnly say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name [as My representative], He will give you. Until now you have not asked [the Father] for anything in My name; but now ask and keep on asking and you will receive, so that your joy may be full and complete.  -John 16:23-24

This is when Jesus was talking to His disciples and preparing them for when He ascends to heaven and how we should communicate with God after that point. What I love about the first verse is how matter of fact it is, it doesn’t say that you ask in Jesus’ name there is a good chance He will give it to you but it says He WILL give it to you. The second verse is just as matter of fact and says to ask and KEEP ON ASKING and you WILL receive, and He promises your joy may be complete. These are words straight out of Jesus’ mouth, He spoke these. As Christians we all believe in the words that Jesus spoke and the principles He put in place and therefore we should believe and know that what He spoke is as true as gravity. Do we fully apply these beliefs? Do we have the faith that our prayers can change the world around us?

“We are too busy to pray, and so we are too busy to have power. We have a great deal of activity, but we accomplish little; many services but few conversations; much machinery but few results.”  -R.A. Torrey

“The reason why many fail in battle is because they wait until the hour of battle. The reason why others succeed is because they have gained their victory on their knees long before the battle came. Anticipate your battles; fight them on your knees before temptation comes, and you will always have victory.”  -R.A. Torrey

Dad Joke of the Day:

If you get a friend request from someone named Jeremiah, it’s ok, accept it. He’s a bullfrog. He’s a good friend of mine.

Have an awesome Friday and weekend and don’t forget to pray!
