Good Morning!
But Lot’s wife, from behind him, [foolishly, longingly] looked [back toward Sodom in an act of disobedience], and she became a pillar of salt. -Genesis 19:26
How many times do we look back at how things were either in good or bad? Do we look back and think if things could have only been different my life today would be so much better? Or do we look back in our ‘glory’ days and wish to be back there? It is good to look back and learn from our past either good or bad, but if we are focusing on looking back the whole time we lose track of where we are going. Have you ever tried to drive forward in a vehicle by only looking in your rearview mirrors? You might be able to do it as long as nobody is in front of you and the road is completely straight, but what happens when you hit a curve, or you come to a dead end, or someone pulls out in front of you? The same is true in life, if we are so focused on what was or what could have been that we forget to look to the future, we will hit some obstacles that will hurt but that could have been avoided if we hadn’t focused so hard on what is behind us. Today I encourage you to look forward, what you do tomorrow will determine your future past. God has great things in store for those that have their focus on Him.
“Do not give your past the power to define your future.”
“I can’t take back the past, but I can fight for the future.” -Shannon Thompson
Dad Joke of the Day:
I’m adopting a healthier lifestyle, so I parked and walked inside to buy donuts instead of using the drive-thru.
Have a great Thursday!
