John 15:12-13

This is My commandment, that you love and unselfishly seek the best for one another, just as I have loved you. No one has greater love [nor stronger commitment] than to lay down his own life for his friends.  -John 15:12-13

These are the words of Jesus Himself. We are to love as Jesus loved. He says here that no one has greater love than to lay down their life for their friends. Jesus took it a step further and laid down His life for all of us, if we were considered His friends or not. In the first part of the verse He says that we should love and unselfishly seek the best for one another. We all probably know what it looks like to love on people but do we know what it looks like to unselfishly seek the best for one another? Do we truly seek what is best for our fellow person, or do we always have an angle that we are pursuing that will somehow benefit us? I think if we are honest, we have experienced being selfish in a relationship or discovering that someone that we thought was a friend actually had their own agenda. Today, let’s love unselfishly…let’s be the change.

Dad Joke of the Day:

People need to stop putting flyers on my car.

I don’t want to see a band called “Parking Violation” at the “Courthouse.”

Have a great Thursday!
