Good Friday

Good Morning!

And they crucified Him, and divided up His clothes among themselves, casting lots for them to see who should take what. It was the third hour (9:00 a.m.) when they crucified Him. The inscription of the accusation against Him had been written [above Him]: “THE KING OF THE JEWS.” They crucified two robbers with Him, one on His right and one on His left. [And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “He was counted with the transgressors.”] Those who were passing by were insulting Him with abusive and insolent language, wagging their heads [as a sign of contempt], and saying, “Ha! You who would destroy the temple and rebuild it in [only] three days, save Yourself by coming down from the cross!” In the same way the chief priests also, along with the scribes, were ridiculing and mocking Him among themselves and saying, “He saved others [from death]; He cannot save Himself! Let the Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed), the King of Israel, now come down from the cross, so that we may see and believe and trust [in Him]!” Those who were crucified with Him were also insulting Him.  -Mark 15:24-32

Today is what we call Good Friday in remembrance of Jesus getting crucified for each and every one of us. At this point the evil side thought they had won, that they had extinguished anything to do with this Man along with His radical and revolutionary teachings that had made them uncomfortable and was outside of their comfort zone. How often do we accept in our life, consciously or unconsciously, that evil has won and we just give up? I would like to remind you, that as Christians, you have God’s army on your side and through the redemption power of Jesus you have authority over any and all evil. Let’s not allow the enemy to convince us that it has won because we know that Easter is around the corner and that Jesus holds the authority, not some low life that keeps whispering in our ear. Through Jesus there is freedom, there is newness, there is beauty out of ashes. You matter…why else would Jesus have given His life for you?

“We are saved not by what we do, but by what Christ has done. It is finished.”

“On this Holy Day, may His light guide your path, may His love grace your heart, and may His sacrifice strengthen your soul!”

Dad Joke of the Day:

It was so cold yesterday my computer froze.

My own fault though, I left too many windows open.

Have a joyful Good Friday and an amazing Easter weekend!
