1 Peter 5:10

After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace [who imparts His blessing and favor], who called you to His own eternal glory in Christ, will Himself complete, confirm, strengthen, and establish you [making you what you ought to be].  -1 Peter 5:10

Just reading this verse it seems a little confusing and we may question why God would let us suffer. The verses leading up to this tells us to humble ourselves under God, and it says that the devil is prowling around like a lion ready to devour you. We are to resist the devil and his tactics and realize that other people are suffering in the same way. Because of the free will we have to choose between God and the enemy I think this suffering is referring to the suffering that we endure before we submit ourselves fully to God. Once we do that, this passage promises us that we will be completed, confirmed, strengthened, and established. That sounds like something I want to be!
