Love Your Neighbor As Yourself

Good Morning!

If, however, you are [really] fulfilling the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself [that is, if you have an unselfish concern for others and do things for their benefit]” you are doing well. But if you show partiality [prejudice, favoritism], you are committing sin and are convicted by the Law as offenders.  -James 2:8-9

Can you imagine, in today’s world, if we all lived this out? If we truly loved our neighbor (co-worker, spouse, friend, drive-thru attendant, political opponent, etc.) that would mean that we would treat them without any selfish concern for ourselves. What if we truly loved the guy or gal that doesn’t agree with our theological views, or our political views, or the ones that might just have made obscene gestures towards us in traffic? Loving others doesn’t have to mean that we agree with them, it just means that we love them like Jesus loves us, knowing that the love may not be returned. Being able to walk this out is how we bring change, it is how God’s Kingdom is expanded, it is how God’s impact is amplified.

“Love your neighbor as yourself, love does no harm to a neighbor.”

“I have never known a man who received Christ and ever regretted it.”  -Billy Graham
