See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception [pseudo-intellectual babble], according to the tradition [and musings] of mere men, following the elementary principles of this world, rather than following [the truth—the teachings of] Christ.  -Colossians 2:8

In today’s world with so much information at our fingertips there is a temptation to think we got this all on our own and that we can be the experts on various subjects. There is a lot of philosophy that is available that has nothing to do with God or even encourages that there is no God. There are a lot of speeches, podcasts, commentaries that can take you down about any rabbit hole you can think of. But there is no theory, no philosophy, no principle that can you bring the the peace and fulfillment that Jesus’ teachings can. Those other things can keep you occupied, even busy, but they will seem empty and void at the end of the day. True fulfillment, true purpose, is rooted in God and the best place to start researching that is God’s Word, the Bible.
