Do not lie to one another, for you have stripped off the old self with its evil practices, and have put on the new [spiritual] self who is being continually renewed in true knowledge in the image of Him who created the new self. -Colossians 3:9-10
The verse before these says to rid ourselves of anger, rage, slander, malice, and obscene language. This is following that, saying we should not lie to each other either. The enemy is constantly trying to tell us that we are not different since we became a Christian and that we are no different than we were before, but here Paul is reminding us that we are a new person in Christ and that we bear the image and actions of Jesus in our new self. Today, don’t listen to the lies of the enemy but remind yourself (and him) that you are a new creation in Christ that gets renewed daily, and then walk out that new creation.
