Good Morning!
Run away from youthful lusts—pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace with those [believers] who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. -2 Timothy 2:22
Sometimes there might be that one thing that keeps us from growing deeper in our relationship with Christ, something we just can’t seem to let go of. It might be something we started when we were younger, it might be something that we picked up along the way, but it either consumes too much of our time to where we don’t make/don’t have time to deepen our relationship with Christ or it may just put us in a frame of mind where we feel too guilty to go to God about it. It could be a hobby, it could be an addiction, it could be your job. Whatever it is, chances are, only you and God may know about it and whatever it is, there is no way that God doesn’t want to help you with it. He desires for you to hand that ‘thing’ off to Him so that He can deal with it and that opens you up to pursue depth with Him. What step are you going to take today to move your relationship to the next level with God?
“Lust is a poor, weak, whimpering thing compared with that richness and energy of desire which will arise when lust has been killed.” -C.S. Lewis
“The battle of holiness must be fought on two fronts- without and within. Only then will we see progress toward holiness.” -Jerry Bridges
