Good Morning!
No one who abides in Him [who remains united in fellowship with Him—deliberately, knowingly, and habitually] practices sin. No one who habitually sins has seen Him or known Him. -1 John 3:6
When we are in deep relationship with God, He has a way of bringing soft conviction to the sin that is in our lives and gives us the courage and the strength to walk away from that sin, whatever it may be. According to the verse above, if we habitually stay in that sin we cannot have that deep relationship with God, it even goes so far to say that we don’t even truly know God if we hold on to a sin rather than surrender it God and letting Him help us rid of it. Does that mean that anyone that sins has no relationship with God and doesn’t know God? No it does not, we all mess up. The difference is how our heart posture is when we sin, do we repent and do everything we can to stay away from that sin and try our hardest to not fall into it again? Or do we decide that the sin is worth it and continue to pursue it, not caring the consequences? The latter is when you lose knowing or seeing God. Shed the sin and go all in with God!
“You can’t start the next chapter of your life if you keep re-reading your last one.”
“Sin is like a cancer that destroys step by step, sometimes so slowly we don’t realize what’s happening to us.” -David Jeremiah
Dad Joke of the Day:
All of these young people out there making sure they have the coolest water bottle. I grew up in the 80s and 90s. I don’t think I drank water until I was 30.
Have a great Thursday!
