Don’t Be Lukewarm

Good Morning!

Go, cry out to the gods you have chosen; let them rescue you in your time of distress.  -Judges10:14

We oftentimes (sometimes almost without realizing it) want it both ways. I think we have all experienced times we want to live like we desire in our flesh but then when we are in distress we want to yell out to God to be rescued. But we can’t hold on to our sin and just ask for God’s help when it’s convenient for us. God is a chain breaker and He will break away the chains (bondages) if we let go of them, but if we keep holding on tightly to them or keep going back and picking them up we are putting a barrier between ourselves and God. God will help us if we ask him to but will not force Himself on us, and He will break your sin if you choose to let Him. Being lukewarm in your faith doesn’t work, you can only serve one master and you can’t have it both ways. Fortunately for us, God is not one to keep score and if we truly repent, ask for forgiveness, and give our sin up to God, He will forget it even existed.

“Lukewarm people don’t really want to be saved from their sin; they want only to be saved from the penalty of sin.”  -Francis Chan

“Is it not a sad thing that after all Christ’s love to us, we should repay it with lukewarm love to Him?”  -Charles Spurgeon

Dad Joke of the Day:

Your veterinarian won’t tell you this but if your dog is running a fever, go to the store and get some mustard.

It’s the best thing for a hot dog.

Have a great Tuesday!
