Good Morning!
These men [the Judaizers] eagerly seek you [to entrap you with honeyed words and attention, to win you over to their philosophy], not honorably [for their purpose is not honorable or worthy of consideration]. They want to isolate you [from us who oppose them] so that you will seek them. Now it is always pleasant to be eagerly sought after [provided that it is] for a good purpose, and not just when I am with you [seeking you myself—but beware of the others doing it]. -Galatians 4:17-18
When people pursue us it can feel really good because the average human naturally wants to be pursued. It can make us feel important and wanted and that is a good feeling. When we find ourselves in that situation we need to ask ourselves and ask God what the motive is behind it and if that motive is God honoring. It is easy to get caught up in whirlwind of it that then might not turn out as you thought it would. This can apply in so many areas…..in your faith, in your career, organizations outside your career. Couple questions you should always ask yourself are, “Is it God honoring?”, “Will it affect my faith in a good way or a bad way?”, “How does it impact those around me?”, “Does the motive behind it benefit more than just them or just me?” The more you are in tune with God the more the answers to these questions will be evident.
“Happiness is a butterfly, which when pursued, is always just beyond your grasp, but which, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you.” -Nathaniel Hawthorne
“Happiness is not some ‘thing’ to be pursued, it is a way of being born from appreciating.” -Rasheed Ogunlaru
