Parable of the Sower: Part 1 of 4

Good Morning!

Parable of the Sower: Part 1 of 4

The sower sows the word [of God, the good news regarding the way of salvation]. These [in the first group] are the ones along the road where the word is sown; but when they hear, Satan immediately comes and takes away the word which has been sown in them.  -Mark 4:14-15

This is one of those relatable parables that we can identify with one or all of the four groups. This first group are people that hear the Truth but either don’t know the importance of it or they have predetermined mindsets that don’t even allow it to penetrate. If it even sticks for a split second, Satan comes and starts yelling lies to where what was heard gets drowned out and confused with something else. Satan will do everything he can to discredit the Truth. Just as God will never lie, Satan will never tell the full truth. He will do all he can to mislead you and make you believe lies, that is his whole purpose. The good news is that even if we or someone we know are part of this first group it doesn’t mean we are stuck there forever.

“Truth and love will overcome lies and hatred.”  -Vaclav Havel

“Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it.”  -Helen Keller
