Good Morning!
So repent [change your inner self—your old way of thinking, regret past sins] and return [to God—seek His purpose for your life], so that your sins may be wiped away [blotted out, completely erased], so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord [restoring you like a cool wind on a hot day]. -Acts 3:19
If we repent and turn to God our sins are wiped away, blotted out, completely erased. In Psalms it says He removes our sins as far as the east is from the west, I don’t think they can be any further removed from us. As the verse above states, we can then enjoy times of refreshing and restoration once we have repented and know that our sins are gone. The problem we run into sometimes is while God might have wiped away our sins to be never mentioned again, we tend to not be able to do the same and we hang on to those sins and get hung up on those sins when in reality we are the ones holding onto them, not God.
“Remember that the Lord Jesus came to take away sin in three ways; He came to remove the penalty of sin, the power of sin, and at last, the presence of sin.” -Charles Spurgeon
“Forgiveness is a promise, not a feeling. When you forgive other people, you are making a promise never to use their past sins against them.”
Dad Joke of the Day:
You know you are a bad driver when Siri says: “In 400 feet, stop and let me out.”
Have a great Friday!
