Keep Him Close

Good Morning!

It is the Lord who goes before you; He will be with you. He will not fail you or abandon you. Do not fear or be dismayed.  -Deuteronomy 31:8

This is one of those verses that would be good to just keep with you always and read it multiple times throughout the day as a reminder. If you have a relationship with God, He will be with you, He will not fail you, He will not abandon you. Notice how it says that He will go before us. I think of following a big truck, if you can stay close enough you will almost get pulled along from the draft created, but when you get too far away that the wind from the truck catches you, you will have to work twice as hard to go the same speed and eventually will fall away. Taking that concept and applying it to our faith journey, the closer we stay to God the better, we are under His protection. It is when we drift away that opposition hits us as we are unprotected and don’t have the tools to fight off the opposition. Luckily though when that happens and we repent and ask God for help He will take us right back into His protection.

“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.”  -James 4:8

Dad Joke of the Day:

Why is everyone at the gym asking me why I’m still sitting on the stationary bike?

I’m going downhill, dude, mind your business.

Have a great Friday and weekend!
