Good Morning!
Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my groaning. Heed the sound of my cry for help, my King and my God, for to You I pray. In the morning, O Lord, You will hear my voice; in the morning I will order my prayer to You and eagerly watch. -Psalms 5:1-3
Does our prayer and expectation look like this verse describes? First of all it asks God to consider our groaning, to hear our cry for help and then it speaks of lifting our prayer to God in the morning and then eagerly watching for what He has for us. The first time I read this it caught me by surprise in that we should pray and eagerly expect God to move. How many times do we pray as a formality, and how many times do we pray and expect things to happen? How many times did Jesus heal people and tell them something along the lines of “Your faith has made you well”. God works through us in our faith.
“Prayer keeps the burden fresh. It keeps our eyes and hearts in an expectant mode.”
“Saying a prayer won’t make you a Christian. Placing your faith in Christ as your savior makes you a Christian.” -Andy Stanley
