Good Morning!
Cease from anger and abandon wrath; Do not fret; it leads only to evil. -Psalms 37:8
Easier said than done, right? Fretting is kind of like worrying, it really doesn’t do you any good and as the verse states above it only leads to evil. It also says to abandon wrath since wrath is never good and what comes of it is never good. Anger it says to cease from it; I think there is such a thing as righteous anger, but just because we have a righteous anger doesn’t mean we have to or should display it as anger. When something wrong is happening it should light a righteous anger in us but does that mean we go around and start displaying anger to everyone around us? I think we should cease from outward anger and approach it calmly and still fight for what is right, only calmly. Anger displayed often produces more anger, let us deflate the situation, not escalate it. When you feel a righteous anger come on, pray for direction on the best way forward. Do what is right, in the right way.
“Anger doesn’t solve anything. It builds nothing, but it can destroy everything.”
“Your mind is like water; when agitated it becomes difficult to see. But if you allow it to settle, the answer becomes clear.”
