Good Morning!
What is the benefit, my fellow believers, if someone claims to have faith but has no [good] works [as evidence]? Can that [kind of] faith save him? If a brother or sister is without [adequate] clothing and lacks [enough] food for each day, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace [with my blessing], [keep] warm and feed yourselves,” but he does not give them the necessities for the body, what good does that do? So too, faith, if it does not have works [to back it up], is by itself dead [inoperative and ineffective]. -James 2:14-17
Faith without evident fruit, is it truly faith? And works without faith, does it really draw you closer to God? If we think we can earn our way into heaven by doing good works, we are cheapening and not fully realizing what Jesus did for us. If we have faith and have no fruit to show from it, we are also cheapening what Jesus did for us and we are not fully realizing what we are called to do as Christians. If you aren’t sure what specifically to do, pray and God will give you the direction you need. If you are afraid that God will push you out of your comfort zone, just remember, God will give you the strength to do for whatever He has called you to do, so don’t let the enemy make you scared to even ask or attempt to live out your faith.
“If you ask God to guide your footsteps, you have to be willing to move your feet.”
“Is what you’re living for worth Christ dying for?”
