The Treasure of the Gospel is In Us

Good Morning!

But we have this precious treasure [the good news about salvation] in [unworthy] earthen vessels [of human frailty], so that the grandeur and surpassing greatness of the power will be [shown to be] from God [His sufficiency] and not from ourselves.  -2 Corinthians 4:7 AMP

God had the freedom to establish the world and spread the Gospel in any way He desired. He could have ordained that only individuals meeting specific criteria would be chosen to share His message. Instead He chooses any one of us and no matter what kind of life we have led, He wants to use us to do His great work. Often the most powerful way to spread the gospel is through testimony and being able to use our story to spread the gospel is just another detail that God has set up. We are all imperfect, we are all broken, and we all have a story to tell that is unique to us that connects with other people. What is your testimony? How can you use it to spread the gospel? Looking back, in what way has God been preparing you to use your story to reach other people for Him?

“If you give it to God, He transforms your test into a testimony, your mess into a message, and your misery into a ministry.”  -Rick Warren

“Sometimes a single phrase of testimony can set events in motion that affect someone’s life for eternity.”  -Dieter Uchtdorf
