Good Morning!
He answered, “Because of your little faith [your lack of trust and confidence in the power of God]; for I assure you and most solemnly say to you, if you have [living] faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and [if it is God’s will] it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. -Matthew 17:20
This is always a hard verse for me to wrap my head around. A mustard seed is about the size of a pin head and a mustard plant/tree will grow up to 20-30 feet tall and spread out about 20 feet in diameter. I think that is a great picture of what even a little bit of faith can accomplish. But then I think how small is my faith when I am afraid to step out into the uncomfortable even when I feel God nudging me? According the verse above even the smallest amount of faith can move mountains. What we have to keep in mind is that it is faith in God, not faith in ourselves that moves mountains. That takes reliance on God and knowing that God is there ready to catch you if you fall. Where or in what way do we need to step out and plant our mustard seed today?
