Good Morning!
But each one must carefully scrutinize his own work [examining his actions, attitudes, and behavior], and then he can have the personal satisfaction and inner joy of doing something commendable without comparing himself to another. -Galatians 6:4
I am convinced that one of Satan’s greatest tools is comparison. I think we all fall for it at some point, in some fashion. We compare vehicles, houses, careers, relationships, children, grandchildren, etc. We might fall into a trap of comparing and getting jealous, or comparing and using it to drive us to pursue more worldly possessions, or comparing and using justification to do or allow certain things. We might also use it as a guideline to determine how we are doing in life, how successful we are. But none of that matters, what matters is our relationship with God. Comparison will only create pride or bitterness, so although it might creep in without you realizing, when you do realize it, shut it out and realize that God has a specific, unique plan for you.
“Comparing your bad with their good doesn’t make any sense.” -Nitin Namdeo
“Comparison can turn friends into adversaries.” -Frank Sonnenberg
“Comparing yourself to another person is an insult to the uniqueness in which God created you.” -Duane Yoder
Dad Joke of the Day:
I checked the Kelly Blue Book on the value of my car.
It asked if the car’s gas tank was full or empty.
Have a great Monday!
