Proverbs 10:18

Good Morning!

He who hides hatred has lying lips, and he who spreads slander is a fool.  -Proverbs 10:18

A lot of times when we harbor hatred toward someone, our solution is to go talk about it with someone or a lot of someones. So the verse above says that if we hide hatred we have lying lips, but if we go talk bad about someone we are a fool. So which way is up? God teaches us through the Bible that hatred rots us from the inside out and when you go vent about it to someone it is like adding fuel to a fire. So how do we get rid of hatred to where we aren’t harboring it, letting it rot our insides? We need to change our perspective of the situation or the person that we have the hatred towards. Maybe that means we put ourselves in their shoes and look at things from their perspective, maybe that means we pray for them to get revelation, like actually wholeheartedly pray for them. It is hard to hate someone if you are wholeheartedly praying for them…

Sometimes we do need outside help to get over hatred but it should be someone that helps you get new perspective in a Godly way, not someone that adds fuel to the fire or just listens and lets you fuel the fire by yourself. It should be someone that isn’t afraid to push back a little and help you see a new perspective. Just remember, hatred damages you more than the person or thing you hate.

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”  -Martin Luther King, Jr.

“Hatred is like acid, it destroys the vessel that holds it.”

“Let no man pull you low enough to hate him.”  -Martin Luther King, Jr.

Dad Joke of the Day:

I was in a shoe shop yesterday trying on a shoe. I said to the assistant, “It’s too tight.” She said, “Try it with the tongue out.”

I said, “It’th nho ghood, it’th thtill thoo thight.”

Have a great Wednesday!
