James 5:7-9

Good Morning!

So wait patiently, brothers and sisters, until the coming of the Lord. The farmer waits [expectantly] for the precious harvest from the land, being patient about it, until it receives the early and late rains. You too, be patient; strengthen your hearts [keep them energized and firmly committed to God], because the coming of the Lord is near. Do not complain against one another, believers, so that you will not be judged [for it]. Look! The Judge is standing right at the door.  -James 5:7-9

Reading these verses makes me think of all the turmoil that is going on in the world and how we, as believers, should not get wrapped up in it. I believe we need to do our part and stand for righteousness when it is called of us to do so, and then we need to be patient and remind ourselves that God is in control. It is through our free will as humans (while God is in control He allows us as humans to make our own decisions) that there is evil in the world. We, as believers, however, should not complain and bicker among ourselves; that is how the enemy gets into the church. When we are too busy bickering among ourselves we lose focus of reaching the lost. The enemy knows that if he can get us to focus on each other and get us fighting with each other inside the church, we have very little focus going outside the church. Let us as a church be patient with each other, be willing to look past the non-sinful offenses from other believers, and stand united waiting on the God’s return and stand united against the enemy.
