Do Not Envy

Good Morning!

Do not let your heart envy sinners [who live godless lives and have no hope of salvation], but [continue to] live in the [reverent, worshipful] fear of the Lord day by day.  -Proverbs 23:17

The enemy loves to entice us with sinful things that feel good to the flesh. Some of the things might not be that bad and we think that it’ll be fine. But just like drugs that often start with a gateway drug that isn’t that bad and only gets worse from there, so is sin, it will start with something small and only get worse from there. There are times where it would be easier to just go along with it and not fight the evil but there again, that is where it starts and then soon you are making exceptions for everything. Doing the right thing is often not the most popular or easy choice, but in the end it is the most rewarding and the most fulfilling. Stay focused and in tune with God and He will help you do the right thing, He will comfort you when everyone seems against you, and He will strengthen you to stay on the right track.

“Remember not only to say the right thing at the right place, but far more difficult still, to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment.”  -Benjamin Franklin

“Do not belittle a small sin, for the biggest of fires can be caused by the smallest of sparks.”

Dad Joke of the Day:

I visited a monastery recently and as I walked past the kitchen, I say a man frying chips. I asked him if he was the Friar.

He said, “No, I am the chip monk.”

Have a great Friday!
