Good Morning!
50.And Jesus cried out again with a loud [agonized] voice, and gave up His spirit 51.and [at once] the veil [of the Holy of Holies] of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; the earth shook and the rocks were split apart. 54.Now the centurion, and those who were with him keeping guard over Jesus, when they saw the earthquake and the things that were happening, they were terribly frightened and filled with awe, and said, “Truly this was the Son of God!” -Matthew 27:50-51, 54
The veil was torn in two signifying that we all have access to God through Jesus. It is no longer only certain people that have access…all have access. No matter what you have done in life, no matter how insignificant you think you are, you still have the access to the Father. Even the ones that crucified Him and thought the whole time that Jesus was nobody significant realized after this happened that He truly was the Son of God. What is amazing to me is that, the Pharisees (the religious people) were very much involved in the temple and would have known that the curtain tore right at that time still didn’t acknowledge that He was the Son of God. If they would have admitted it they would have admittedly been guilty of His death. They were too focused on preserving themselves and their traditions to realize what it actually was. I always have to think, if that happened today would we recognize the signs? How would we respond to something that challenged how we think it should be?
“When Jesus died on the cores the veil in the temple was torn from top to bottom so that big sinners like me might fit through.” -Charles Spurgeon
“God has already torn down the biggest obstacle we will ever face, the veil of out sin that separated us from His holy embrace. He will, in the same way, lead you through every challenge you will ever face.” -Louie Giglio
Dad Joke of the Day:
Did you know that a slice of apple pie is $2.50 in Jamaica and $3.00 in the Bahamas?
Those are the pie rates of the Caribbean.
Have a great Tuesday!
