His Children

Good Morning!

See what an incredible quality of love the Father has shown to us, that we would [be permitted to] be named and called and counted the children of God! And so we are! For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.  -1 John 3:1

God welcomes us with open arms to be His children, all we need to do is turn to Him, repent of our sins, and allow Him to be first in our life. When we do that we are eliminating selfishness because when we submit ourselves to God and make Him first in our life we are not focused on just ourselves but on what He wants. The world is so focused on self that, like the verse above states, they don’t understand followers of Christ that are not. When we are in Christ and refuse to get offended while getting the book thrown at us, it doesn’t make sense to the world and therefore they don’t understand it. The struggle sometimes is that, instead of debating like Jesus did, we as Christians tend to get offended and end up saying and posting things that aren’t the best representation of our beliefs. I think we have all done it from time to time, at least I know that I have, and looking back we see that it might not have been for the best. I don’t think we should do nothing though, because evil takes over when good people do nothing; I think we need to just take action as Jesus did and not operate from a position of being offended but from a position of a child of the Most High God!

“To be offended is a choice we make; it is not a condition inflicted or imposed upon us by someone or something else.”  -David Bednar

“As a child of God, I am greater than anything that anyone can do to me.”

Dad Joke of the Day:
Where do bad rainbows go?

Prism. It’s a light sentence and gives them time to reflect.

Have a great Wednesday!
