Good Morning!
Armor of God Breakdown Series
And having strapped on your feet the gospel of peace in preparation [to face the enemy with firm-footed stability and the readiness produced by the good news]. -Ephesians 6:15
The Roman soldiers used to put spikes through their shoes, or sandals, for better grip and stability in battle. The gospel of Jesus Christ, the gospel of peace, is that stability as we go into battle against the enemy. It gives us a firm foundation, firm footing, and will help us not to slide backwards in the middle of it. It will give us grip to push forward, it will give us control in what otherwise would be unsure footing. If you have ever played baseball/softball or football with cleats you know the difference they can make on your footing and control, the gospel is no difference, it gives us sure footing. So let’s go put our spikes on today and be prepared!
“Peace is not the absence of conflict, but the ability to cope with it.” -Ghandi
“Two opposing gospels are fighting one another for the soul of our nation and, increasingly, the world: the gospel of consumption and the gospel of peace.” -Leonard Sweet
Dad Joke of the Day:
What starts with an “O” and ends with “nions” and sometimes make you cry?
