Good Morning!

Do not let unwholesome [foul, profane, worthless, vulgar] words ever come out of your mouth, but only such speech as is good for building up others, according to the need and the occasion, so that it will be a blessing to those who hear [you speak].  -Ephesians 4:29

What is coming out of our mouth? Reading this verse this morning got me really convicted on what I say about other people and situations. When I speak of other people am I building them up or tearing them down? When I speak of a situation, am I building it up or tearing it down? I know that I have made the comment, ‘I’m just saying it how it is’, but is that really the best way to put it? Is there a way to approach something that doesn’t tear it down, but instead builds it up? I think the best way to keep ourselves in check is to compare ourselves to Jesus and see if what we are saying is something He would say or the way He would say it. In order to be able to do that, we have to be immersed in prayer and scripture.
